CRISIS SERVICES COUNSELOR

Responsibilities include providing weekend behavioral health crisis services from Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. through Sunday until 8:00 p.m.  Attend weekly Crisis Services team meetings, agency meetings, supervision, and trainings as required by the agency or as approved by the employer.  Timely completion of required clinical and legal documentation.

Qualifications require a Master’s Degree in a Behavioral Science.  Washington State Licensure for counselors or social workers is required; experience performing involuntary commitment investigation and evaluation is expected; ability to obtain a DCR designation within three months of hiring is required.  Must be able to pass a criminal background check; possess a current valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.

Competitive compensation is based on education, skills, and experience and PRC offers a generous comprehensive benefits package and opportunity for continued education and training.  All paid holidays are available to this position.  Additional on-call shifts will be paid at the crisis services established rates.  Overtime is not available for this position.

MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR

Palouse River Counseling in Pullman, WA is expanding their Adult Outpatient Team and have two full-time openings for a Mental Health Adult Outpatient clinician.  This is a fully benefitted position with a competitive salary.

PRC is seeking candidates who will share our vision, values, and commitment to superior client services.  The Successful applicant will be working with a collaborative, interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, and deliver individual and group counseling to PRC mental health clients.

Qualifications:  Master’s Degree in a behavioral science.  Candidates must be a fully licensed Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor or must be able to be fully licensed within six (6) months of hiring.  This is a professional position providing intake evaluations, client counseling, assessments and planning.  3 to 4 paid stabilization shifts per month are expected.  Familiarity with CBT/DBT and dual diagnosis is preferred.

Quality Assurance Specialist Clinician

Organization Description

Palouse River Counseling is a non-profit, behavioral health care organization based in Pullman, Washington providing outpatient behavioral health care in psychiatry, adult and children’s mental health, substance use disorders, crisis services and community outreach.
 
Position Summary
The QA Specialist Clinician will ensure accurate and timely processing of clinical documentation/notes related to client services by performing Quality Assurance Audits to validate adherence to the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). The QA Specialist Clinician will provide recommendations to improve quality, compliance and timeliness and will have an understanding of all State and Federal Regulations and accrediting bodies regarding quality and
compliance as it relates to the work being audited.  This position will provide back-up on-call for the daytime Crisis worker and will perform tasks assigned by the Executive and Clinical Directors.
 
A Successful candidate will have the following Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in the Behavioral Sciences.
  • Must be fully licensed in Washington State with a DCR designation -designated crisis responder or able to become a DCR within six months of hiring.
  • Must have 3 to 5 years of experience in Mental Health direct services and internal and external auditing experience.
  • Experience working with community mental health and chemical dependency preferred.
  • Able to provide documentation of all licenses and permits required by local, state, and federal governments to perform the skill and profession described.
  • Satisfactorily pass a criminal background check.
  • Experience with electronic health records and knowledgeable in outpatient behavioral health care practices.
 
Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide quality assurance and improvement functions for the Agency.
  • Ensure clinical, WISe services and operations are effective, timely, and meet the standards developed by the respective licensing authorities and State agencies.
  • Ensure that relevant data is collected, and reports are generated to inform staff of progress in meeting standards and outcomes prioritized by the agency.
  • Responsible for the preparation of clinical record audits and quality assurance activities within Palouse River Counseling.
  • Develop and monitor qualify assurance plans and is involved with, when necessary, various licensing agencies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a quality assurance plan for the Agency including policy and procedures to implement the plan.
  • Work with supervisor to prepare for external site reviews and participate in on-site reviews.
  • Help identify clinical training needs to enhance client services within available resources.
  • Collaborate with the Directors in scheduling All Staff Symposiums.
  • Assist as directed with on-boarding of new MH staff.
  • Provide on-call back up services to the crisis services program when needed to cover illnesses and, perhaps, vacations.
  • Field phone calls from providers, clients, and families.
  • Perform Screenings for client participation that does not meet agency standards.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with all levels of staff and develop positive working relationships.
  • Provide detail-oriented solutions to identified processes and problems.
 
Competencies

  • Strong personal skills and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team in an outpatient behavioral setting.
  • Experience in the provision of crisis intervention and consultation
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge in preventative mental health education and outreach programs
  • Familiarity with short-term models of treatment.
  • Ability and knowledge in the use of computer programs and electronic health records system.
